Today’s Outside of the Box Entrepreneur Series is excited to introduce you to Amber Voight. Amber and I first met on Facebook, which is likely no surprise given that abundance of people she has influenced, women especially, through her social media, more specifically, Facebook presence. Amber has evolved into speaking internationally, being recognized and on the cover of Networking Times, a published author and Network Marketing rock star. Amber was so welcoming in my request for this interview, and I know this speaks to her humble demeanor and willingness to help others.
Amber Voight is a wife, a mother, and an icon to many people in and out of her profession. Her interview below is jam packed of goodness, value and overall sense of who this powerhouse woman is. So without further ado …
What sparked your drive to become an entrepreneur?
I don’t think anything started the drive. I think it was always there I remember being six years old all I ever wanted was a briefcase and a pager now I’m going to get the pager but I did get the briefcase and then I was reading a highlights magazine you know those magazines for kids you find the doctors office well in the back of the magazine they had an advertisement for a company that paid kids cash or prizes to sell products. Now I was so excited I called ordered everything myself waiting for to come in the mail as soon as it came I put it in my briefcase went door-to-door and started selling I’ve always been a self-starter and I’ve always been an entrepreneur I couldn’t see my life being any other way.
You’ve been selected as an “out of the box entrepreneur” would you agree with this statement?
I absolutely would agree I do all of my business online or at least most of it besides investment properties but my network marketing business I grew 100% online and I think that’s pretty out of the box
If you could have given yourself a piece of knowledge or advice when you started what would that be?
If I could give some advice to myself if I was just starting out in the profession I would say it work harder on yourself than anything else. Become somebody that someone else wants to follow and you do that by learning from people who have done. That be in books, that be on YouTube, that be at company conventions, that be at events like the association of network marketing professional and Go Pro just work on yourself your checks will grow once you grow and don’t give up so soon don’t go company to company, if you don’t have success right away be like a postage stamp and stick with it until you get there.
To what do you attribute your success? What would say are the five key elements for starting and running a successful business?
Getting up when I fall down that’s a big one you’re going to have challenges, you’re going to have frustrations you’re going to have bad days you might have bad months but you can’t give up you have to keep trying you have to keep getting up.
Relationships – don’t ever look at somebody like a number don’t ever look at somebody like how can they benefit me instead look at everybody you come in contact with and think what can I do to make their life better how can I help them that’s when you really start developing relationships
Videos videos videos videos – I cannot stress that enough people get to know who you are you videos it’s so much better than just posting a status
Going to every single event no matter what even if I didn’t have the money I found a way to go you need to surround yourself with people who have what you want and you’re going to find those people at conventions at seminars that’s where you need to be.
Who has been your greatest inspiration and why?
I have a lot I would say Jim Rohn and Napoleon Hill for sure.

When I began this series of interviews, reaching out to successful, full time, entrepreneurs, I had one purpose – for this information to touch someone, somewhere who might be thinking of giving up. Reaching someone who needed to know that entrepreneurship isn’t always rainbows and awesome sauce – but there’s a real hustle, a real grind. Know that if you put in the work, success is inevitable.
